Spanish whites might be having a moment. At least they are at my house, where we look for good value and fresh fruit character. This fresh organic white gets a few months on its lees to round out its character, and the result is remarkably sophisticated wine for its price. Verdejo from Rueda benefits from the region’s limestony soils, and this one from the Tres Olmos (three elms) site has a distinctly mineral character on top of peachy stone fruit. A perfect aperitif to be had with salty snacks, or an omelette at lunch.
