The Perrin family makes one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s most famous wines, Château de Beaucastel as well as one the world’s supermarkets’ most famous wines, La Vielle Ferme (a.k.a. the Chisken Wine). This easy drinking organic CdR falls somewhere in between with a straight forward juicy big Grenache fruit and a bit of Syrah smoky spice.
Blackberry is the dominant characteristic of this wine that shows a versatility. I would be pleased to see a bottle of it opened after ordering pizza, or with pasta, even roast chicken. Less meditation, more action; it goes with the flow.
