Who needs cranberry sauce when red fruit (cherry, straw and raspberry) and white pepper make up this lively and fun wine? But unlike the sauce in the bowl, this sauce, with just 1 gram of residual sugar per litre, is bone dry. If there is a better pairing to turkey than Gamay, I haven’t tried it.
Malivoire is a Niagara Gamay O.G., and it shows down the line in this, their entry level offering. At a low 12% alcohol by volume this wine will take you through the big dinner with all its fixings, with enough cool climate acidity to cut through the gravy and mashed potato butter.
Celebrate last year’s harvest with this young, but absolutely ready to drink, local light red wine. And, I imagine a glass with a sandwich the next day will be pretty good, too.
